Spit Free Bharat is a nation wide campaign launched with the hope to bring about a concrete ideological change in the mindset of every Indian against the menace of spitting in public spaces.
The seed of this campaign germinated on 15th August, 2017, India’s 70th Independence Day, when Rashtrasant Pujya Gurudev Shree Namramuni Maharaj Saheb gave a strong call to the Jain Community present, stressing on the fact that, “Religion is not limited to following rites and rituals alone. Lord Mahavir has depicted 10 types of Dharma, out of which one is RASHTRA DHARMA – Respect (Vinay) and Duty towards your Nation. We as a nation mould ourselves exceptionally well when we travel abroad, but we shy away from displaying the same civic sense and respect towards our motherland.” On 15th August, Pujya Gurudev’s message was well appreciated by one all present, who took a pledge not to spit anywhere in public places.
On Pujya Gurudev’s 47th birthday that we celebrate as Manavta Mahotsav each year, we wish to take this cause on a national level. The Spit Free India Campaign is not bound by any religion, but aims to unite people from all religions for the love of their Matrubhoomi.
Let us make it a national movement led by Indians, for Indians. Because the onus of doing something for the nation does not lie on soldiers alone, every citizen can do his / her bit.
